![]() The seating arrangement in the classrooms relies on old wooden benches that can no longer accommodate the student population of the school. Each desk/bench is about 5 feet long but has to accommodate 6 or 7 students. That situation makes the task of learning difficult for the students. Therefore, there is a need for us to buy new seats for the classrooms to make learning more accommodating. | ![]() While the school’s master voltage is driven by solar panels in a few common areas, not having adequate electricity in most of the classrooms makes the everyday basic operations very challenging. For instance we cannot keep the school open past certain hours of the afternoon for afterschool activities or operate any machine that requires steady high voltage. Therefore, it is important to bring in greater capacity for electric current to the facility so we can fulfill those needs. | ![]() Students need books to read in school and at home. At this time, the habit and tradition of reading a book that is not a textbook is nonexistent among our students simply because there are not enough books. They don’t have the internet to gain access to online resources that could help them expand or supplement the knowledge they are receiving in the classroom. |

![]() There is a need for ongoing teachers’ training at the school. Since most teachers in rural area never receive formal training at any school of education, their ability to teach and manage classrooms is rather limited. Consequently, students are not exposed enough to differentiated and higher levels of instructions. | ![]() Facilities at the school are in dire conditions of disrepair as the school is now more than 30 years old. All past funding went to school and staff support with little left over for more than basic maintenance. Staff and students have to go to latrines that are outside and away from the building to satisfy their physiological needs. On rainy days, this situation presents all kind of problems for both staff and students. Therefore, there is a need to install bathrooms inside the school building. | ![]() Kids, especially the ones in pre-k, get sick and sometimes miss school due to the amount of dust coming from the school yard that piles up inside the classrooms. Therefore, we must change from gravel to concrete in the portion of the school yard that is responsible for this situation |
CURRENT PROJECTS
In its far-from-adequate present facility, ECACEB serves the needs of the children of Dufailly, Haiti in Pre-K thru Sixth grade. Because the facility is now more than 30 years old, there are numerous projects that must be addressed to continue serving the students. Moreover, with so many teens and young adults in the area with no hope or opportunity to continue their education locally, EDUCWORLD's plan is to upgrade and expand the facility to offer trade school learning and high school education. EDUCWORLD seeks to make ECACEB a place of learning by continuing to evolve. This means equipping ECACEB with the right tools and resources to provide a level of education that is solid, practical and answering to the needs of the children of this village in Haiti.
